Overview

CargoSum is a static website. Its calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type into a tool are never sent to a server, logged, or stored anywhere outside your own device. There is no account system, no database, and no backend processing your inputs.

Local storage

CargoSum uses your browser's localStorage to remember your unit preference (e.g. metric vs. imperial) between visits. This data stays on your device, is never transmitted anywhere, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.

Analytics and advertising

CargoSum does not currently run advertising. We intend to display ads through Google AdSense to support keeping the tools free, and this policy is written ahead of that so it is accurate from day one of enabling ads.

Once enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info. We may also use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic (e.g. which tools are used); any such service will be disclosed here before it is enabled.
